Custom Signs and Banners: Meet our New Roland VG-540 Printer-Cutter

It offers die cut decals, floor graphics, wall and window graphics too!

In the fall of 2019, I visited the SGIA show in Las Vegas to find a wide-format printer/cutter that would produce outstanding custom signs and banners.  After meeting with manufacturers from Epson, Roland, Mimaki, Mutoh, and HP, we finally settled on a Roland VG-540!  First, the service and warranty Roland offered is fantastic.  Second, the gorgeous color pallet of the award-winning Roland Tru-Vis ink system was unmatched by the competition.  Additionally, a Seal 54” cold laminator was purchased to offer optional durability to some signs and required protection for floor graphics.  The printer and laminator are now up-and-running in our Indianapolis, IN shop.  They are ideal for producing a wide range of custom signs and banners.

Many features combine to make the VG-540 an amazing printer.  First, it features a 54” media width.  The extra width over 30″ printers makes printing large custom signs and banners a breeze!  Second, four FlexFire print heads use vibrant and cost-effective inks. With 3 droplet sizes and a wide print swath, each drop of ink falls exactly where it is intended.  This results in gorgeous images, even at production speeds.  We chose the CMYKLcLmLk ink option (vs dual CMYK) for fine details, smooth gradations, and a wider color gamut.  The TrueVis inks are also Greenguard Gold certified, and do not require special ventilation or environmental equipment.  This means we aren’t harming the environment when we make your custom signs and banners! Next, new cutting technology was implemented that increases accuracy. Finally, Bluetooth connectivity makes operating the machine easier than ever before.

Custom Die Cut Labels & Decals:

The possibilities here are endless.  Whether cut out in simple shapes like circles and rectangles, or custom die cut, you can create custom stickers, custom decals, or custom labels for a wide variety of uses.  For instance, custom product labels, custom bumper stickers, custom decals for homemade wine and beer bottles, stickers for youth sports teams, gag gifts, etc.  In other words, the sky is the limit with your creativity.  Just keep it legal!

Custom Signs and Banners

First, we offer matte and gloss banners than can be grommeted for indoor and outdoor use.  Common uses for these banners are for sponsorship, advertising at events, fairs, and trade shows, and more!  You could hang a banner in the outfield of a little league game.

Next, in addition to custom signs and banners, we offer back-lit signs, yard signs, for sale signs, posters, windows graphics, and giant pictures are some examples of the custom signs this printer can make.  Finally, TrueVis Inks are durable up to three years outdoors without lamination.

Wall Graphics and Murals

We stock removable wall decal material so you display custom wall graphics for your home or business.  For instance, scenic views (think fake window views) and children’s drawings.  Your child can even have a life-size image of himself or herself on their bedroom wall!  Want to totally redo a room and your house in a non-traditional way?  Take a super high-resolution picture with a professional camera and make it feel like you are really there.  For instance, at the beach, at the ballpark, looking at a skyline, etc.

Floor Graphics:

We stock floor, concrete, and carpet vinyl for making custom floor graphics.  These graphics can be used at trade shows, in stores to promote products, or even in at home to make it look like your bedroom is in the middle of the ocean!

Wide Format Pictures

We stock 54” wide poster paper and 50” wide photo paper.  Using high quality images taken from professional cameras, we can print giant photos with stunning quality.  We can also print large posters and film for backlit displays.

Window Graphics

Whether a sticker for your car window, or a full store frontage window, the Roland printer/cutter can handle the job.  Window graphics are great for advertising store sales, promoting your business or organization, or honoring your child’s championship sports team.  We can even print on perforated film!

Vehicle Wraps: While not currently offered by our company, this printer can produce vibrant vehicle wraps.  Vehicle wraps can be used to make a vehicle look unique, or help a business advertise while driving around the city. We do have the space available in our warehouse to offer this, but we need a trained installer before we can offer this service.  Maybe some day!

Heat transfers: We can make full color heat transfers with this printer.  In most cases, we would recommend our full color direct–to-garment services for this use.  Unless DTG isn’t capable of printing on a fabric that our Roland heat transfers could bond to, we think DTG quality looks more authentic on apparel than print-and-cut heat transfers.
